By now, we all know what Link Building is and how essential it is in our positioning strategy, but for those who do not know, I have prepared a Link Building guide of the strategy that are working best this year 2020 and will work in the next.
Within the strategy of obtaining links, there are several techniques that we can use:
Link Wheel:
This is one of the best-known techniques. It consists of creating a large number of websites, each pointing to the next one forming a circle that never closes (here is the great secret of the success of this technique), which all points to our website to position in question. Alex Navarro tells us how to make a link wheel.
Link Baiting:
It is about obtaining links thanks to the creation of viral content. I do not doubt that it works, but it isn’t easy to launch viral articles, I like to call it Link Luck more since Luck plays a very important role in this type of action.
Purchase of Links:
Of this, better not to speak.
Guest Posting or Collaboration with Blogs:
At the moment, it is a technique that works quite well, but you know what Matt Cutts said about this technique.
Link exchange:
Although it is a technique that many industry experts strongly reject, in my opinion, I think it is a very effective technique if you are starting with your blog. It never hurts to make 3-4 exchanges with websites of the same theme that is also starting out like you.
Registration in Directories:
Be careful in which directories we put our Online Project; they must be directories that are NOT penalized. There are free ones, and there are paying ones (the fact that they are paying does NOT mean they are NOT penalized).
Comments on Blogs, Forums, etc.:
Whenever our comments add value and are additional support to said article, forum, etc. it will be well seen in the eyes of Google.
Social Link Building:
This is one of the most recent strategies, the more Facebook Shares, the more RTs, the more they share us on Google +, etc. we will have more social links to our website, and every day Google gives more importance to these types of links.
Others:
There are other techniques for obtaining links that are more or less recommended.
But let’s get to the point. I have come to talk about a very little known Link Building technique. It is a matter of carrying out a strategy of Links by Levels or Pyramidal.
Benefits of a Level or Pyramid Link Building strategy
The benefits of this link-obtaining technique are very high:
- We will not depend on anyone to get links. We do not have to pay anyone or beg anyone for a link, and above all, we always control the quality of our links.
- We avoid penalties for third party links. If in its day, they put a link to one of our main levels (TIER 1), a relevant website that has now been penalized, that penalty will affect our level (TIER 1), but never on our main website (the website that we want to promote).
- You control your links at all times. You control all the links; you know which ones are good, bad, better, harmful and what and how you should change things.
Tiered Link Building. What is this?
I must say that this is a technique that I started practicing a little over a year ago when Matthew Woodward made a manual on how to do a Link Building strategy by Levels. This technique that he explained did not use it in the letter. Over time I have been perfecting and modifying it to my liking.
The Tiered Link Building or Link Building of Levels / Pyramidal is the realization of a link strategy based on the transmission of strength and popularity from one level to another and their quality, being the first level of our strategy (TIER 3) the most neglected, the one with the least force, and with the lowest quality links; and being the last level (TIER 1)… Blogs 2.0 cared for and pampered with quality articles, with authority domains and with few links pointing to our website to the position with the appropriate Keywords (remembers to diversify the «anchor text» to avoid possible penalties).
If we look at the image above, we see how Link-juice (Page Rank flow) is passing from one level to another until it reaches TIER or LEVEL 1, which is the Blog / Blogs 2.0 that we have pampered and cared for and where we will make quality articles pointing to our website in question.

Differences between Levels or TIERs
Using the image that I have made as a guide, I will briefly explain what types of links would go at each level:
TIER 3:
We must be clear that we do not care about quality. At this level, which I would even qualify as “TIER SPAM”, our obsession must be the Quantity forgetting and leaving aside the links’ quality. As we see in the image, the ideal would comment in Blogs, Forums, Low-Quality directories, Bookmarks.
TIER 2:
Here we have to worry a little more seriously about the quality of the text that surrounds the links, for example, Medium Quality articles (+ 400 words) embedded in Directories, Blogs 2.0 of medium quality and authority, etc. (There are people who automate the texts of this level … I personally would NOT do it, nor do I;))
TIER 1:
This is the most important part since this is the level closest to our website, and the one that we must take care of the most. Here we must create Blogs 2.0 in places of authority. In addition, all the articles that are within these blogs must be written by professionals or by us that they are original and unique and only with the necessary outgoing links to our Web project to position. This type of authoritative Blogs would be blogs on WordPress.com, Blogger, University blogs (we already know the importance and appreciation that Google has for this type of Blogs), we can even create a blog with a domain that already has the authority, and he is free because his previous owner has released him.
